a bit about us
Wayland's Yard is a place for the whole community to gather and share in our passion for proper coffee and proper food. We are in the business of putting smiles on faces and we take great pride in that. Whether you're here to meet friends, make new friends, work on your latest project or simply grab a coffee before jumping on the train, Wayland's has got you covered.
This space has been brought to life after a career ending injury forced Sam Smith to retire from playing professional rugby for Worcester Warriors and formally Harlequins. This isn't just another coffee shop, but Sam's dream to create a venue that champions speciality coffee, supports local suppliers and serves up banging food in a unique and exciting space.
Our single origin speciality grade beans have been carefully sourced from some of the worlds best farms and are hand roasted just 15 miles from the shop by our friends Mark and Tre at Method Roastery. We are constantly striving for that perfect shot of espresso and the passion of our highly skilled baristas will shine through in every cup. We have developed an amazing espresso blend with Method and will also be serving their single origin coffees on our brew bar through a variety of pour over filter methods. Want to learn more about our coffee or the world class La Marzocco and Mahlkönig equipment we use then please ask!
If it isn't locally sourced and made fresh to order then it isn't served in Wayland's Yard. Our menu changes the meaning of brunch - we have all manner of tastes and appetites covered. All our meat is sourced from the surrounding area, our bread is baked locally by Ma Baker's and our cakes made freshly in house. We feel passionately about providing for everyone, therefore we have a range of tasty veggie, gluten free and vegan options.
You'll be hard pushed to find a better spot in the centre of this busy City. Trust us on this one. Keep your eyes peeled for our next Yard Party.
We host a daily power vinyasa yoga schedule with the amazing Yaur Yoga. Your first class is free, so make sure you get involved and see what all the fuss is about.
We're not currently looking to expand our amazing team, but we are constantly on the look out for potential future members of staff as we look to grow and expand. If you are a motivated and ambitious individual, committed to customer happiness and want to embark on or continue a career in the coffee industry then get in touch and we can hold your CV on file.
As always, experience is great but a good attitude is better. We offer a comprehensive training programme and want a group who will really buy in, flourish and grow within this exciting business.
If this is you - please send an introductory paragraph or two and your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org
We're lucky to have a pretty epic private space upstairs, which we want to use to give back to this City that we love so much! It's available for hire to any group; we're thinking kids birthday parties, charity groups, business meetings, university societies, book clubs, talks and art groups.
